The 8th I LOVE Okayama Senryu Contest

Okayama City was founded on June 1, 1889. In 2012, Okayama City designated June 1 as Okayama Citizens' Day to celebrate the birth of Okayama City.
Senryu is a seventeen-syllable poem which is often satirical of the times.
The Okayama Citizens' Day Executive Committee (Okayama City, Okayama Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Okayama Chamber of Commerce and Industry Entrepreneurship Group) believes that “each citizen should love and be proud of the city for the growth of Okayama City. The organisation conducts a variety of activities to deepen the love for Okayama City.

This is an effort to rediscover the charms of Okayama City by writing Senryu poems featuring local specialties, sightseeing spots, scenery and other attractions of our city. Through creating Senryu poems, every one of us can think about the charms of our hometown, share in those charms and deepen our love for the City.
