Located North-West of the castle, this area was home to many samurai in the Edo period. There was a time when there were residences of bow unit members in this area, and it is said that this led the area to be named Yuminocho (bow town).
As part of the efforts made in 1964 regarding address indication, the Southern part of Yuminocho was reorganized into Tenjincho and Banzancho and the remaining part of Yuminocho and a part of Nambacho were merged into the present-day Yuminocho. The name is still in use today.
