Okayama Shrine Flea Market

Blessed with beautiful weather on Sunday, April 13, many people came to the Okayama Shrine Flea Market. Antique goods and books were sold and workshops were held in the precincts of Okayama Shrine.

In addition to food and beverage booths, 451 books came to open a Book Marché at an area along the river banks of the Asahigawa. There were also exhibitions of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Literature, which Okayama City joined in October 2023.

Many visitors to the flea market were interested in the exhibitions. The exhibitions helped visitors understand that Okayama City has entered a global network.

Since Shinto deities appear in history books such as Kojiki and Nihonshoki, and literature and shrines have had a deep relationship since ancient times.
